Dear Finn Families,
What an exciting first full week of school it has been!
Students have quickly settled into their routines and are actively engaged in their learning each day.
Across all classrooms, we’ve been exploring the theme of belonging—celebrating how we are each unique while still deeply connected as part of our Finn community.
Next week, we are looking forward to celebrating Dot Day on Monday, September 15th! Students have already been busy creating colorful masterpieces in the Art Room with Mrs. Moroney and in their classrooms. Be sure to check out the photos to see their creativity in action.
We are also thrilled to share that students have begun their journey with ST Math, a game-based program designed to build deep understanding of math through puzzles and problem-solving. Guided by JiJi the penguin, students are learning concepts through visual and spatial reasoning—making math both fun and meaningful.
In classrooms, there’s so much great work happening! First graders in Ms. Perry’s class have been reviewing the important parts of a sentence and even created a lively “Noun Town” poster.
Also, our Kindergarten and Grade 1 students are enjoying whole-class lunch bunches with Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Silva, a special way for our Student Support Staff and students to connect and build relationships early in the year.
Please take a moment to enjoy the photos we’ve included—they capture the heart of what makes Finn such a special place to learn and grow.
Enjoy the weekend.
Clayton and the Finn School Staff
