Dear Finn Families

What a busy, busy, busy week we had here at Finn! From thoughtful conversations about "LOVE" to celebrating 100 days of learning, our students truly made this week one to remember.

For celebrating Valentine’s Day- Day of Friendship, students reflected on what LOVE means to them—kindness, friendship, helping others, family, and even sharing a "favorite crayon." Classrooms also explored how love is expressed and celebrated around the world, helping our young learners see that while traditions may look different, caring for one another is something universal.

We also marked the 100th Day of School with style and creativity. There were several students who arrived dressed as a centenarians, fully embracing what it might feel like to be 100 years old- (walkers were left at home), while another proudly wore a shirt decorated with 100 soccer balls, hearts, footballs, etc...

The day was a wonderful opportunity for students to reflect on how much they’ve grown while engaging in fun, hands-on learning activities centered around the number 100. Our activities included;
  • Counting 100 steps as students traveled from their classrooms throughout the day
  • Breaking down the number 100 by counting by ones and tens to strengthen number sense
  • Exploring what life was like 100 years ago through stories and pictures
  • Imagining what life might be like 100 years in the future—sparking creativity, laughter, and some very imaginative predictions
It is incredible to think about how much growth has taken place in just 100 days. Our students are not only 100 days smarter—they are 100 days kinder, braver, and more confident as learners.

As we head into vacation week, I hope your family enjoys time to rest, relax, and have some fun together. And while the snow has certainly added its own excitement to the season, my hope is that this coming week will be the last week we have to “enjoy” it. 😊

Reauthorization of the NSboro Strategic Plan

The Public Schools of Northborough and Southborough is reauthorizing its Strategic Plan, Vision 2026: Educate, Inspire, and Challenge. First approved in the spring of 2021, this plan has guided the District’s priorities and actions over the past several years. As we look ahead, it is time to chart the course for the next six years - and we invite our community to help shape that future.

This fall and winter, the District is collecting input from students, families, staff, and community members through multiple avenues, including a community-wide survey. The survey mirrors the January 2021 version, allowing comparison of new feedback with the original baseline data. These insights will inform the goals, priorities, and key actions that will define the next phase of the District’s Strategic Plan.

Your participation in the survey is greatly appreciated. Survey Link
