We eased back into school mid-week after our extended February break courtesy of “Blizzard 2026”… Snowmageddon… Snowpocalypse…” — whatever name your household landed on, Mother Nature certainly went BIG this time!
Even with a couple of extra days, our students returned smiling and ready to learn. It's nice to see friendships pick up right where they left off, routines snap back into place, and the rhythm of learning reestablished.
Next week is Read Across America Week – with a focus on some wonderful stories by Dr. Seuss. This is an annual event promotes the joy of reading across our entire school community. You’ll find full details in a flyer from your child's teacher, but here’s a quick preview of the fun:
Monday – The Sleep Book, Pajama Day / Comfy Cozy Clothes
Tuesday – The Cat in the Hat, Wear red and white (and a fun hat!)
Wednesday – Wacky Wednesday, Wacky or mismatched clothes, backwards outfits, silly style encouraged
Thursday – Green Eggs and Ham, Wear green
Friday – Fox in Socks, Break out those crazy socks!
Throughout the week, our students will be highlighting their favorite books, building their literacy skills, and celebrating the power of stories to bring us together.
Looking Ahead..........we are already looking forward to the shift in seasons. We’re hopeful that the snow will begin to melt in the coming weeks so we can prepare the Finn Family Garden for planting. And our students will soon begin learning about the life cycle of plants, and there is no better classroom than hands-on experiences in our own garden beds. Watching learning grow — quite literally — is one of the highlights of spring at Finn.
Thank you, as always, for your partnership, flexibility, and support. And Here’s to warmer days ahead and a week filled with reading joy!
