Even though we had two delayed openings, this week was filled with excitement and fun for our students at Finn.
Read Across America Week was a big hit, as classrooms, students, and staff took a deep dive into the wonderful world of Dr. Seuss. Throughout the week, our school community celebrated the joy of reading through themed days, engaging classroom activities, and opportunities for students to share their favorite stories.
It was wonderful to see so many creative outfits and, even more importantly, so many students excited about books and storytelling.
Check out some of the Art work students are creating with Ms. Morroney, the Gr 1 Animal Reports, and the Kindergarten overview of the Three Little Pigs.
We also had the opportunity to celebrate Social Emotional Learning Day with a school-wide assembly featuring Mannie Nogueira, an incredible stunt cyclist who delivered an inspiring message for our students. Through an exciting performance, Mannie spoke how trial and error, practice, and grit helped him to get where he is today. His message strongly reinforced the values we work to cultivate every day within our school community.
Of course, Mother Nature continues to keep us on our toes. The week included two half-days due to weather, which certainly made for a unique schedule. While winter is not quite ready to let go just yet, we remain hopeful that next week will finally bring us a much-needed warm break.
And the next time you're at Finn PLEASE check out our Lost and Found area in the lobby. We are gaining items each and every day.
Thank you and here’s to warmer days ahead.
