Dear Finn School Families,
As a reminder, there will be no school tomorrow, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth. Throughout the week, students participated in age-appropriate lessons to learn about the history and significance of this important holiday, which commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans.
Also this week, our Preschool classes recently held their annual Sing-Along Celebrations. These special events were very well attended by parents, grandparents, and family members. Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating our preschool students.
Our Grade 1 students have been enjoying their much-anticipated Farewell to Finn Celebration. This year's week-long carnival theme was generously sponsored by Finn SOS and brought lots of smiles and excitement throughout the building. Students participating in a different carnival-inspired activity each day. It has been a fun way for our first graders to celebrate their time at Finn before moving on to their next adventure at Woodward.
Students across all grade levels have also been busy preparing seedlings for planting in the Finn Garden. This year’s garden project includes a very special addition—pumpkin seedlings from a County Giant Pumpkin winner! The original pumpkin weighed more than 600 pounds last fall, and our students are eager to see how these impressive plants grow throughout the season.
And finally, the Southborough Fire Department recently visited Finn School with one of their fire trucks. During recess, students had the opportunity to explore the truck, learn about firefighting equipment, and meet members of our local fire department. We are grateful to the Southboro Fire Dept for their support.
As we approach the end of the school year, it is hard to believe that only a handful of school days remain.
Thank you for your continued partnership and enjoy the weekend
Sincerely,
Clayton and the Finn School Staff
